News regarding KGRC members
We congratulate the KGRC members (and former KGRC members) for the following achivements (see also Research grants):
- July 2022: Sandra Müller is awarded the "Förderungspreis" of the Austrian Mathematical Society. Congratulations Sandra!
- June 2022: Sandra Müller is awarded a START prize. The START prize is one of the most recognized prizes for young scientists in Austria and includes prize money up to 1.2 million Euro.
- October 2021: We are happy to announce that Jeffrey Bergfalk has been awarded the 2021 Mary Ellen Rudin Young Researcher Award, an annual award which “aims to celebrate Mary Ellen Rudin’s achievements and her legacy by encouraging the development of young talent in topology.” He receives the award for “his exceptional work on the interactions between algebraic topology and set theory.” Congratulations, Jeffrey!
- February 2021: Vera Fischer accepts a tenure-track professorship in mathematical logic.
- December 2020: Sandra Müller is awarded a L'Oreal Austria fellowship and Elise Richter fellowship. Congratulations Sandra!
- July 2020: Matthias Aschenbrenner joins the KGRC as director of the group.
- July 2018: Vera Fischer wins this year's Prize of the Austrian Mathematical Society. It will be awarded at the "Day of Mathematics" at the Faculty of Mathematics on November 9.
- May 2018: Zoltán Vidnyánszky receives the 2018 Paul Turán award. The prize is awarded for Hungarian mathematicians under 40 for internationally recognized excellence in research related to Paul Turán's work and its applications. (Short note in Hungarian language.)
- January 2018: Daniel Soukup receives the Grünwald Géza Prize from the Bolyai Society at the Rényi Institute. The prize is awarded since 1951 to Hungarian mathematicians under 30 for outstanding achievements in pure mathematics research.
- September 2017: Ben Miller is promoted to full professor.
- July 2017: Carolin Antos is granted a project by the 'Freigeist' Fellowship program of the Volkswagen Foundation.

- July 2016: Vincenzo Dimonte is awarded the Rita Levi Montalcini prize (call) and accepts a tenure track position at University of Udine.
- May 2016: Vera Fischer and Moritz Müller acquire habilitation at University of Vienna.
- February 2016: Diego A. Mejia obtains a tenure-track position as a lecturer at Shizuoka University, Shizuoka, Japan.
- December 2015: Wei Li accepts a distinguished position as Research Fellow at the Asian Competitiveness Institute of the National University of Singapore.
- August 2015: Miguel Angel Mota obtains an associate professorship at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
- April 2015: Ben Miller joins the KGRC as a tenure-track professor (tenured in 2016).
- September 2014: Luca Motto Ros obtains a tenure track research position at the University of Turin, Italy.
- August 2014: Clinton Conley starts an assistant professorship at Carnegie Mellon University.
- August 2014: Marcin Sabok takes up a tenure-track professorship at McGill University, Montréal, Canada.
- July 2013: Andrew Brooke-Taylor obtains an EPSRC fellowship.
- May 2013: Lyubomyr Zdomskyy acquires habilitation at University of Vienna.
- May 2013: Ekaterina Fokina acquires habilitation at University of Vienna.
- May 2013: Liuzhen Wu obtains a tenure track research position at the Chinese Academy Of Sciences.
- January 2013: David Asperó obtains a tenure track position as a lecturer at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK.
- August 2012: Ajdin Halilović obtains a tenure track position as a lecturer at the University of South-East Europe Lumina, Bucharest, Romania.
- April 2012: Mohammad Golshani obtains a tenure track position as a post-doctoral research fellow at the School of Mathematics, IPM, Iran.
- March 2011: Asger Törnquist receives a prestigeous Sapere Aude excellence grant of the Danish National Science Foundation (worth 8.1 Mio DKK, about 1.1 Mio EUR).
- October 2010: Heike Mildenberger obtains a tenured professorship in Freiburg, Germany.
- September 2010: Sebastiaan Terwijn obtains a tenured Universitair Docent position in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
- July 2010: Jakob Kellner acquires habilitation at University of Vienna.
- October 2009: John Krueger obtains a professorship at University of North Texas, USA (tenure track).
- October 2008: Andres Caicedo obtains a professorship at Boise State University, USA (tenured in 2012).
