2014 seminar talk: Banach-Mazur games and Fraisse limits

Talk held by Wiesław Kubiś (Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic) at the KGRC seminar on 2014-11-06.

Abstract

We shall present an abstract version of the Banach-Mazur game which is played on a fixed category (typically, some structures with embeddings). In case where the category is a Fraisse class, there is a winning strategy leading to its Fraisse limit. We shall also discuss applications to more general categories, describing certain generic objects that are analogues of Fraisse limits in continuous model theory.
